Which api do you prefer?

I started with opengl but i really want to try directx. I dont know much about it or how its setup really but from the few times i messed with it in the past, I remember it being really enjoyable to use. That got me thinking on what are some of the APIs you guys have used and which ones really stood out as a cut above the rest?
