Looks like there's a lot of information here and even more people that are smarter than me. I'm trying to learn how to reverse engineer assembly code. In the cracking area off the forum I didn't see a help section so I hope it's ok here.
So far I've discovered x64dbg and ghidra. The software I'm working on cracking is pretty old, late 90s kinda stuff. There's a file (that I don't have) that goes in the software directory that it looks for on startup to deactivate trial mode. If there's any common term for this type of cracking I'd love to know to help me when searching. I don't know if the forum allows me to post the software or not. Otherwise I'm open to any help and look forward to learning as much as I can.
